Parenting as Teachers Program
Trained Parents as Teachers educators conduct home visits to provide child
development information and materials to mothers of infants and toddlers. An
average of 80 families participate. In addition, our PAT program does infant
and toddler screening using "Ages and Stages" as an assessment tool. When
developmental delays are noted, we make referrals to the appropriate agency to
ensure that the child received early intervention.

Library Based Literacy Program
Literacy and story-telling activities are held monthly at 40 childcare centers.
Storybooks, "Big Books", and music collections are provided to the centers as
well as take-home books for the children enrolled there. In addition to these
monthly sessions, the centers periodically take their children on field trips
to visit the library.

Scholarship Initiatives
This program provides scholarships to children at each center participating in
COE who are identified as at-risk, as well as children considered in extreme
need at centers in our FQE program. Also included are professional development
and training of daycare providers and program assessment to validate
effectiveness.
